This site was launched in celebration of Earth Day 2008, and will
showcase student projects and research designed to understand, and
support, our environment. Our initial projects are from
Tower School, in Marblehead, Massachusetts. We hope to continue to
develop this site, as part of an ongoing conversation, as we all work
toward taking a more active role in the preservation of Earth for future
generations. Featured Story NEW PSAs added 5/2 Fourth Grade Students at Tower School worked in pairs to research various aspects of the environment and environmental stewardship. They developed story boards, wrote scripts, recorded their messages, then edited the audio and video. We now have a number of these Public Service Announcements (PSAs) available. Our initial releases are available here. Unplug That Charger? Recently, it has been widely reported that device/appliance chargers consume significant quantities of electricity, even when the device is unplugged. First Graders are collecting data regarding this claim. Click here to see the results. Blog Your Thoughts We have established a few blogs to help us share thoughts and ideas. We currently have blogs relating to our work with Kill A Watts, one that is authored by the Environmental Committee at Tower School, and another shares thoughts about 'green' merchants and manufacturers. Brief descriptions of all three blogs are here. |
